Omoyele Sowore

Omoyele Sowore is a Nigerian human rights activist, former presidential candidate. He is also founder of an online news agency Sahara Reporters.

Sowore has a long history of activism and social reform. He studied Geography and Planning at the University of Lagos. However, his academic program extended by two extra years due to expulsion for political reasons and student activism.

Now he is the face of the "Revolution Now" campaign. Omoyele Sowore was arrested by the DSS on 3rd of August, 2019 ahead of a planned nationwide #RevolutionNow protest. He was granted bail by the Federal High Court Abuja. He was finally released on the 24th December, 2019.
