David Olubaji, professionally known as Blak Dave, is a Lagos-based musical artist who is known for his work in the EDM genre in Nigeria.
Blak Dave is an Afrohouse DJ, senior software engineer, producer, and musician, often credited with balancing a thriving tech career with his status as a headlining DJ in Nigeria and internationally. He is a co-founder of Monochroma, one of the biggest raves in Lagos, Nigeria, and he began his career in tech and music at a cybercafe in Surulere.
His portfolio includes experience with firms like Okra Technologies and Intelia. He stepped into music production with his breakout debut EP, “The Third Step,” in 2024, which helped cement his status in the Nigerian EDM and Afrohouse scene, with tracks like "IGOKE" and "Kalabungu.” David is also famously known for his rave, “Blak Dave and Friends,” which operates outside of his work with Monochroma, and he is one of the most beloved DJs in the Nigerian raving scene.
