Mike Afolarin

Mike Afolarin is a Nigerian photographer, filmmaker, and actor, known for starring in comedic or romantic roles in Nollywood.

He began his acting career in 2013 in a stage play while still in university, and in 2018 he starred in his first feature film, “Kasala.” Mike gained fame and recognition when he played the lead role in the beloved Netflix series “Far From Home,” and that same year he portrayed Akinzo in the Funke Akindele and Tobi Makinde film “Battle on Buka Street,” which is currently the second-highest-grossing film at the Nigerian box office.

Since his breakout in 2022, Mike Afolarin has appeared in other big-name Nigerian films like “House of Ga’a,” “Adire,” “Red Circle,” “Ajosepo,” and “A Lagos Love Story,” which is another Netflix film where he played the leading role; most recently, he is one of the cast members of the record-breaking film “Black Market.”

Alongside his career as a film actor, Mike Afolarin has a blossoming theatre career and has appeared in several stage productions, including “Dear Kaffy” and “Project X.”
