Chigozie Obioma is a Nigerian award-winning writer whose first novel, The Fishermen, was a finalist for the Man Booker prize and won a number of prizes including an NAACP Image award, an LA Art Seidenbaum award, among others and was translated into 26 languages. He is best known for writing the novels The Fishermen (2015) and An Orchestra of Minorities (2019), both of which were shortlisted for the Booker prize in their respective years of publication, one of only two writers to be so honored, the other being Rohinton Mistry. Between the two books, his work is being translated into thirty languages.
