Ogunlana Oluwabusolami Habitat, professionally known as “Solana,” is a rising Nigerian singer, songwriter, and the face of the viral “Yorupop” sound, a genre that blends rich Yoruba cultural storytelling with Afrobeats, electronic, and alternative pop influences. She first gained media prominence when her song “Okunkun” went viral worldwide, drawing the attention of artists and producers including SZA, Diplo, Tyla, and many others.
Solana began making music at the young age of 6 and is committed to exploring sounds such as Afropop, Afrobeats, Pop, Hip-hop, Trap, and RnB, while paying homage to her ancestry by using the Yoruba language in her music.
The singer began exploring a career as an artist in her second year of university and recorded Okunkun in 2023, but only released the track in 2026 after it gained thousands of views across social media platforms for its unique sound. Since going viral, she has teased the release of an EP and become the pioneering voice for what is being described as the new-generation sound in Nigeria.
