About

Arinze Stanley Egbengwu is a 32-year-old Nigerian artist, activist, photographer, engineer, and entrepreneur. Arinze is a self-taught artist best known for creating hyper-realistic pencil drawings, working primarily with charcoal and graphite on paper to express his social and political activism.

He began drawing at the age of 6 and developed his artistic talent independently, building technical control over the media that have become central to his identity as an artist. He runs the Pond Studio and Pond Collective, which runs artist workshops and a media series.

Arinze is represented by Arcadia Contemporary, Corey Helford Gallery, and Alexis Galleries, has held solo exhibitions both in Nigeria and internationally, and has participated in over thirty duo and group exhibitions worldwide. Through his art, Arinze has addressed issues of racism, modern slavery, and feminism in Nigeria and internationally, using hyperrealism to mirror and investigate lived experiences.
